Recombinant Klebsiella pneumoniae Metallo-beta-lactamase type 2 (blaNDM-1) | CSB-EP510513KBGa0 | Cusabio

Alternative Name(s): Metallo-beta-lactamase NDM-1

Gene Names: blaNDM-1

Research Areas: Others

Organism: Klebsiella pneumoniae

Source: E.coli

Tag Info: N-terminal 6xHis-tagged

Expression Region: 29-270aa

Sequence Info: Full Length of Mature Protein

MW: 29.6 kDa

Purity: Greater than 85% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Relevance: Confers resistance to many beta-lactam antibiotics, including some carbapens. Does not confer resistance to the polymixin colistin or the fluoroquinolone ciprofloxacin.

Reference: Emergence of a new antibiotic resistance mechanism in India, Pakistan, and the UK a molecular, biological, and epidemiological study.Kumarasamy K.K., Toleman M.A., Walsh T.R., Bagaria J., Butt F., Balakrishnan R., Chaudhary U., Doumith M., Giske C.G., Irfan S., Krishnan P., Kumar A.V., Maharjan S., Mushtaq S., Noorie T., Paterson D.L., Pearson A., Perry C. , Pike R., Rao B., Ray U., Sarma J.B., Sharma M., Sheridan E., Thirunarayan M.A., Turton J., Upadhyay S., Warner M., Welfare W., Livermore D.M., Woodford N.Lancet Infect. Dis. 10:597-602(2010)

Storage: The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20?/-80?. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20?/-80?.

Notes: Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4? for up to one week.

Function: Confers resistance to the different beta-lactams antibiotics (penicillin, cephalosporin and carbapenem) via the hydrolysis of the beta-lactam ring. Does not confer resistance to the polymixin colistin or the fluoroquinolone ciprofloxacin.

Involvement in disease:

Subcellular Location: Periplasm

Protein Families: Metallo-beta-lactamase superfamily, Class-B beta-lactamase family

Tissue Specificity:

Form: Liquid or Lyophilized powder

Buffer: If the delivery form is liquid, the default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol. If the delivery form is lyophilized powder, the buffer before lyophilization is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0.

Reconstitution: We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20?/-80?. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
