Relevance: Hepatocyte growth factor/scatter factor (HGF/SF) is a paracrine cellular growth, motility and morphogenic factor. It belongs to the peptidase S1 family and Plasminogen subfamily, contains 4 kringle domains, 1 PAN domain and 1 peptidase S1 domain. HGF regulates cell growth, cell motility, and morphogenesis by activating a tyrosine kinase signaling cascade after binding to the proto-oncogenic c-Met receptor. HGF is secreted by mesenchymal cells and acts as a multi-functional cytokine on cells of mainly epithelial origin. Its ability to stimulate mitogenesis, cell motility, and matrix invasion gives it a central role in angiogenesis, tumorogenesis, and tissue regeneration.

Notes: Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4℃ for up to one week.
Function: Potent mitogen for mature parenchymal hepatocyte cells, seems to be a hepatotrophic factor, and acts as a growth factor for a broad spectrum of tissues and cell types. Activating ligand for the receptor tyrosine kinase MET by binding to it and promoting its dimerization.
Involvement in disease: Deafness, autosomal recessive, 39 (DFNB39)
Subcellular Location:
Protein Families: Peptidase S1 family, Plasminogen subfamily
Tissue Specificity:
Paythway: MAPKsignalingpathway
Form: Lyophilized powder
Buffer: Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm Filtered 20 mM Tris-HCl, 500mM NaCl, pH 8.0
Reconstitution: We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
