Product Type: Polyclonal Antibody
Target Names: TP53
Aliases: Antigen NY-CO-13; Phosphoprotein p53; TP53; Tumor suppressor p53;
Background: Acts as a tumor suppressor in many tumor types; induces growth arrest or apoptosis depending on the physiological circumstances and cell type. Involved in cell cycle regulation as a trans-activator that acts to negatively regulate cell division by controlling a set of genes required for this process. One of the activated genes is an inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinases. Apoptosis induction seems to be mediated either by stimulation of BAX and FAS antigen expression, or by repression of Bcl-2 expression. Implicated in Notch signaling cross-over.

Isotype: IgG
Conjugate: Non-conjugated
Clonality: Polyclonal
Uniport ID: P04637
Host Species: Rabbit
Species Reactivity: Human
Immunogen: Peptide sequence around phosphorylation site of threonine 18 (Q-E-T (p) -F-S) derived from Human p53.
Immunogen Species: Human
Applications: ELISA, WB
Tested Applications: ELISA, WB;WB:1:500-1:1000
Purification Method: Antibodies were produced by immunizing rabbits with synthetic phosphopeptide and KLH conjugates. Antibodies were purified by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific phosphopeptide. Non-phospho specific antibodies were removed by chromatogramphy using non-phosphopeptide.
