Product Type: Polyclonal Antibody

Target Names: SP1

Aliases: TSFP1; Sp1 transcription factor;

Background: Transcription factor that can activate or repress transcription in response to physiological and pathological stimuli. Binds with high affinity to GC-rich motifs and regulates the expression of a large number of genes involved in a variety of processes such as cell growth, apoptosis, differentiation and immune responses. Highly regulated by post-translational modifications (phosphorylations, sumoylation, proteolytic cleavage, glycosylation and acetylation) . Binds also the PDGFR-a G-box promoter. May have a role in modulating the cellular response to DNA damage. Implicated in chromatin remodeling. Plays a role in the recruitment of SMARCA4/BRG1 on the c-FOS promoter. Plays an essential role in the regulation of FE65 gene expression.

Isotype: IgG

Conjugate: Non-conjugated

Clonality: Polyclonal

Uniport ID: P08047

Host Species: Rabbit

Species Reactivity: Human, Rat

Immunogen: Peptide sequence around phosphorylation site of threonine 739 (T-A-T (p) -P-S) derived from human SP1

Immunogen Species: Human

Applications: ELISA, WB

Tested Applications: ELISA, WB;WB:1:500-1:1000

Purification Method: Antibodies were produced by immunizing rabbits with synthetic phosphopeptide and KLH conjugates. Antibodies were purified by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific phosphopeptide. Non-phospho specific antibodies were removed by chromatogramphy using non-phosphopeptide.
